Body shaming and Bullying

--

Body shaming and bully are two interlinked concepts that are ingrained into the Indian consciousness. This perpetual problem is also a part of the Indian schooling structure where grades and intellect matter more than actual learning, creativity, and kindness. Where posters and workshops are expected to rectifying dangerous levels of bullying, in which teachers are often involved.

This problem has now made its way to the virtual world, where it’s deemed appropriate to comment on someone even in private chats!

Pertaining to the unavailability of school counsellors and therapists in general, It’s time we stopped associating these issues with only their victims and started working on their solutions from the grassroots.

While ignorance might be a choice, it is also a privilege.
